Hello! I'm Shannon. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #86366, who is passionate and enthusiastic about helping people. I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Chapman University. After graduating college and working in property management as a customer service specialist I went back to school and received my Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University). I'm a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
Through integrative practices I help clients create more understanding and compassion towards themselves while learning more effective ways of getting through the life's hardships. I utilize Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to work towards attainable/realistic goals and manage unwanted behaviors. Additionally we'll discuss your story and explore which parts of your past may be affecting the present. As clients share their story they can recognize patterns and potential areas of growth and change.
I value your uniqueness and honor wherever you are in your journey. I strive to foster a strong therapeutic relationship by creating an open and safe space filled with empathy, warmth and support. Humor and laughter are encouraged and important reminders of how not take yourself too seriously as we navigate what it truly means to be human.
I've been lucky enough to work extensively with clients from diverse backgrounds and in many different stages of life. I specialize in anxiety and depressive disorders, life transitions, relationship issues and substance abuse/addiction.
I'm currently accepting new clients in private practice and I'm a Lyra Health Provider.
